How We Will Involve Management

Prior to engaging in training the CLEANPASS team arranges a meeting (on-line via Zoom or Microsoft Teams can be facilitated) with the organisation’s management (Infection prevention and control / hygiene committee / hygiene manager / accreditation manager). This management meeting may take place in conjunction with the pre-course hygiene audit / assessment. It is important that as many decision makers relating to infection prevention and control, hygiene services and hospital management are involved in this meeting.
Prior to the meeting the CLEANPASS representative will research and read the relevant external audit reports e.g. HIQA Hygiene Audit / HSE Inspectorate Report.
The meeting also facilitates open communications with all Stakeholders, regarding programmes and services available. Further steps of the CLEANPASS Process are introduced, scheduling pre assessment / audit / etc. – during the meeting, depending on whether this has been covered off at a sales stage. Observers may be nominated to attend the programme, these may be stakeholders who need to attend the course so that they understand the operation of hygiene services.
The roles and responsibilities of staff are clearly defined and the service supervises, monitors and reviews the provision of care to ensure all members of the workforce understand their responsibilities, including accountability for infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship and adherence to safe infection prevention and control practices.
